Ever thought of using a LYT Wayfinder?

Wayfinders are navigational aids. Prime examples are the signage in buildings, on roads, and at airports.

LYT wayfinders are another type of navigational aid. They are wayfinders used at top of a note, and used in more than one note. I’ve found the sweet spot to be four.

I first incorporated LYT wayfinders in 2021 for Obsidian Flight School.

When used well, you can click between high-level notes with barely any mouse movement. It’s easy and kind of fun because of how effortless it is to fly around these notes. Here is one in Ideaverse Pro 2.0:

Not only are LYT wayfinders effective navigational aids, but trying to make one yourself is a mean forcing function. If you have a bigger set of notes and think it might be helpful to add a LYT wayfinder, prepare to be humbled, challenged…but if you keep going…greatly rewarded.

A Request for Feedback: It’s about the book

Okay, I’m requesting your feedback on a couple important points. I have my own ideas but want to hear from YOU.

First, here’s the setup. Imagine you are standing next to someone at the bookstore and they grab the new Linking Your Thinking book. You, already owning it, can't help yourself. You lean over and say, "Hey, that's a good one!" To which they respond, "What's it about?"

So that's the context. You're talking to someone who doesn't know what PKM means. With that in mind, you say the following quoted lines.

In our age of information overwhelm, we find ourselves lost in everyone’s thoughts but our own… …This has resulted in a feeling in the collective that has exploded over the past decade.

Q1: THE FEELING QUESTION) But what is the feeling? Apathy? Disconnection? And if disconnection, from what?

And while other systems have focused on getting projects in order, LYT has recognized our larger, unmet need: to……….

Q2: THE UNMET NEED QUESTION) To create? To make meaning? To make creative connections of our own? What is the larger, unmet, and frustratingly overlooked need that you’ve had and that LYT has helped solve? And how would you finish that sentence from above?
